Summer Study Abroad in China
1. Fudan University International Summer Session, Shanghai, China
University Profile:
Established in 1905, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China (currently ranked as # 4 in the nation). Fudan is a comprehensive university that emphasizes physical sciences, humanities and medical sciences. It currently has a total enrollment of over 45,000 full time students. Fudan University offers English instructed courses and degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Fudan has approximately 4000 international students currently enrolled.
MOU and Reciprocal Exchange Agreement were signed in June 2011. Over 12 OSU students study abroad at Fudan University.
Fudan University International Summer Session 2016 (July 1-29) will provide a 4-week course study and cultural experience to students from all over the world. Students will have the opportunity to get to know China, experience Shanghai and be part of the Fudan community. Our students will also participate in the program. This program will help you achieve multicultural understanding, establish a global vision, and get connected with peers from all over the world.
Fudan University International Summer Session 2016 offers 16 content courses and 3 Chinese language courses at different levels. In addition we offer historical and cultural visits. The content courses will cover a range of topics in History and Culture, Society and Politics, Business and Economy, and Global Issues of the 21st Century. Each content course is designed as a 39-credit-hour course, and each level of Chinese language is designed as a 40-credit-hour course. Students can choose one or two content courses and the Chinese language course is optional. After successful completion of the course study, students will be awarded a program certificate and an official transcript from Fudan University. Students who wish to transfer Fudan International Summer Session credits back to their home institutions are advised to consult in advance with the appropriate academic authorities at their own institutions.

2. SouthWest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China
University Profile:
Founded in 1896, is one of the oldest universities in China that specializes in engineering. It is considered as the origin of higher learning and education of transportation engineering and civil engineering in China. SWJTU, located in Chengdu, is a top tier national comprehensive university in central part of China.
Signed MOU and Reciprocal Exchange Agreement in 2008. 10 OSU students studied at SWJTU as reciprocal exchange students
Short-term Intern Program for University-College Engineering Students
Internship plan including: Chinese culture learning, engineering internship, visit global enterprises, travel, communication with Chinese students.

3. China Agriculural University, Beijing, China
University Profile:
Founded in 1905, located in Beijing, specializes in agriculture, biology, engineering, veterinary medicine, economics and food sciences. CAU is considered China’s # 1 university in Agricultural studies. The total enrollment is about 28,000. It is considered to be the origin of the higher learning and research for modern agricultural studies in China.
Signed MOU and Joint degree program agreement were signed in June 2011.

4. Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan, China
University Profile:
The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) proudly invites your
students to come and experience life as an international student in our university.
We want to take this opportunity to welcome student ambassadors from your university
and take them on an adventure of discovery with us in Western China. Your students
will attend a series of lectures (delivered in English) by leading professors from
SWUFE and get the chance to meet with senior professionals from local business; also
to give a sense of local culture students will get the chance to learn about Chinese
calligraphy, martial arts, traditional music, and cuisine! This will give your student
ambassadors a foundation for understanding more about our university, and Chinese
culture, language and business.
OSU has an MOU agreement in 2010. We have sent five students to attend summer program
(free of tuition) since 2012.
Two Weeks International Summer Camp
If you are interested in the program, please contact OSU study abroad office for nomination
to receive scholarship.
Highlights of the program:
Host city is Chengdu, China’s most rapidly expanding city.
A 14-day program immersing students in Chinese culture, academia, and business.
Meeting minds and encouraging diversity, bringing together the brightest young talents
from world’s leading universities.
A completion certificate will be presented, no credits.
Cost is free if recommended by OSU (up to two students)
Program costs:
For the 2016 summer camp we continue to offer scholarship scheme to our partner universities:Camp
costs (including course fees, accommodation, meals and local transportation etc.)
are fully covered by SWUFE for 2 student delegates from each of our partner universities.
The awardees for these scholarships will be determined/confirmed once all applications
have been received.
All delegates are responsible for costs relating to visa applications, travel/health
insurance and of course the flight ticket to Chengdu!.

5. Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU), Guangzhou, China
University Profile:
Located in Guangzhou City - the largest city in south China and closed to Hong Kong and Macao, was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1924. SYSU is a key and multi-disciplines university entitled the projects of “985” and “211” under the Ministry of Education, ranking as one of the major universities in the country and at the top in South China. Strength of the institution includes medical education, humanities and business.Sun Yat-sen University has also successfully built international cooperation and exchange relationships with many top universities in the world.
Signed Joint degree program in Hotel and Restaurant Administration in 2009. OSU students attend intensive three-week summer program of SYSU each summer.
The 2016 International Summer Program (ISP) of Sun Yat-sen University is now open to applications. It will be hosted in Guangzhou, China from July 17 to August 6, 2016.
The program offers two courses as followings:
Course I Chinese Language and Cultural Experiences (1.5 credits)
Course II China Business Studies (1.5 credits)
Course III Chinese Politics and Cultural Studies (1.5 credits)
