Chartering Packet for New Student Organizations

*These applications are only active while the SGA Committee on Student Organizations is in session during the fall and spring semesters of the academic year with the exception of academic breaks, the two weeks prior to pre-finals week, and finals week.  

To start a new organization you will need:

  • 14 student members (4 of whom are the club officers – President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer)
    • Ask friends, classmates or start an OSU community GroupMe to find members
  • A staff or faculty advisor who is a full time OSU employee – this is usually a professor in one of your classes or in a department related to the organization.
  • A Constitution - Use this Constitution Template
  • The application to start a new student organization is on CampusLink at - *Note the applications are only open when SGA  is in Session which is about 2-3 weeks after the semester starts through Pre-Finals week.
