Chacey Schoeppel is OSU's newest Harry S. Truman Scholar. She is an honors student majoring in agribusiness with a pre-law option. She has interned with the Office of Governor Mary Fallin and the Oklahoma State Supreme Court.

PENCILS OF PROMISE

OSU Junior Andrew Gray has a passion for bettering childhood education throughout the developing world. He has been working with Pencils of Promise. Founded in 2008, Pencils of Promise has built over 150 schools and increased educational opportunities throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America. Andrew decided to organize a Semester At Sea sponsored filed program to visit a Pencils of Promise school while the ship was ported in Ghana.

TEACHING THE TRIBES: USING MORALITY AND ETHICS TO COMBAT CANNIBALISM

Dr. Stephen Haseley mentors OSU students on ethics and morality. Here, he draws upon his unique experiences teaching at a seminary at Papua New Guinea in his mentoring of students.
