Fraternity & Sorority Affairs Advisor Honored

Ival Gregory receiving award

Ival Gregory, fraternity and sorority affairs manager at Oklahoma State University, was recently honored as Outstanding Fraternity/Sorority Advisor by the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values at its annual conference in Indianapolis.  The AFLV award recognizes a campus-based fraternity or sorority professional advisor who exemplifies not only the ideals of the profession, but also the core fraternal values of the organizations with which the advisor works.

“Ival is completely deserving of this award,” said Alison Limke, 2014 Panhellenic Council president. “He is an example of what an advisor should be. He always has time for students and is truly a change agent throughout the university and Greek Life.”

Gregory has worked in the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs since 2000. In 2006, he received the Campus Administrator of the Year Award from Chi Phi Fraternity. He has also served on numerous OSU campus committees, including Welcome Week and Staff Advisory Council.

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs at OSU oversees four councils, including the Panhellenic, Interfraternity, National Pan-Hellenic and Multicultural Greek Council.

AFLV exists to stimulate the growth and development of fraternity/sorority councils and chapter leaders by promoting leadership, educational and values based experiences and resources for student leaders, their advisors and the larger fraternal market.

Candidates for the AFLV award must be nominated by students. A committee of five Greek student leaders worked together in compiling information and submitting Gregory’s nomination. Committee members include past and current presidents of Interfraternity Council, past and current presidents of Panhellenic council and a past National Pan-Hellenic president.
